Easter Weekend

How do I summarize a very busy weekend and a full memory card on my camera? Our weekend started out with a trip to the Children's Museum on Good Friday - well moms and kids anyway - golf season has arrive so the boys battled the chill and attempted to put a round together. The girls had fun at the museum decorating cookies, painting eggs, making bunny ears and playing at the different stations. Not so fun, when the "Easter Bunny" made an appearance. Emily's panic striking fear of costumes kicked in as she b-lined under the table, bawling and shaking, completely terrified. Alexandra had a very similar and slightly amplified version on terror happening simultaneously. He quickly took that as a cue and abruptly disappeared.


There was a very cute moment when Riley decided that she was going to be the teacher, and well she at least had one cooperative and obedient student!!


Saturday it was off to Uncle Ron and Aunt Shelley's for Easter Dinner. We enjoyed a lovely meal and company and slide show of the Cruise everyone went on in January.
After a sleepover at Grandma Mary and Papa Rick's, the girls awoke to find that the Easter Bunny had been busy in the night. In the same fashion as I recall from my childhood - pj clad, puffy eyed with tussled hair - the search began. Emily wasn't quite sure what was going on for the first little while, giving Riley the head start rushing around from room to room. So cute.






The rest of the morning was spent opening gifts from all of the Chappell's, decorating cookies and looking through the great clothes that Lauren passed down and my parents brought back from Texas. Even though they are size 6/7 and Riley still needs to do some growing yet for them, she found the "perfect, most beautiful dress ever!" Which she just had to put on, despite the cold temperature and would not take off for the remainder of the day.



Okay, so that was our morning - the fun continued in the afternoon at Grandma and Papa Finnigans. The girls were greeted by an adorable Great Grandma Bunny (though costume fearful Emily was hesitant at first). They discovered that the Easter Bunny had also been here - but outside this time. How exciting!!! It was a little chilly, but the sun was out and they had a blast running around the yard on a great egg hunt.




The house was filled with beautiful flowers and decorations (thanks Sharon and Rolf) another fabulous meal and great company, and of course the new obsession with Barbie Thumbelina and the Twillerbees and babies (thanks Grandma and Papa).
