New House

First things first - bedrooms and kitchen.
The girls rooms were priority number one. i wanted them to arrive Friday to finished bedrooms, and we did get them finished (minus putting away their clothes, which is still not done, ha ha!).
Obviously we had to whip our room together first, so we had somewhere to sleep Thursday night. There was already a nail in the wall so we even got a picture up!

Next we started on Riley's room, since that would take the most effort - chandelier, self, mirror, butterflies, flower light etc. etc. It took a bit of time, but it turned out great and her reaction when she arrived to see it was awesome!!



Emily I knew would be easier to please - a few wall decals and ensuring that all her "friends" we there waiting for her was all she needed. She was just so excited to see all of her stuffies and jumped right in to have a dance with Iggle Piggle. They didn't want to come out to see the rest of the house after they got up there (I guess we should have done that first).


I didn't get too far with the Kitchen on Thursday cause we wanted to hook up with our friends that evening at Brad and Shari's Canada Day Party. It was great to see everyone, but I sure was tired!!!
The new stove arrived first thing this morning, then came the satellite, then the phone and Internet!!
After the grandparents arrived with the kids and Aunt Kerri, they treated us to a home made lunch with our new outdoor patio dishes that they so nicely brought and we had lunch and a swim out back!!
The grandmas busted a but and we got the kitchen from a room full of boxes to a room ready to be Christened with our first "meal" (dessert) by early afternoon - thanks ladies!!!

And thanks to the Papas for bringing up all of the great stuff for our new home!! 2 trucks full :)
After everyone left and the girls had settled in a bit, they got in to fairy mode. As sort of a housewarming gift for them I had bought some Pixie Hallow Fairies and accessories. But the greatest accessory they found was Pixie Hallow itself. They have designated our island garden in the front yard as their Fairy Land and spent the evening diving into their imaginations in the world of Fairies each with a fairy in hand (well Emily preferred Blaze the eager firefly over a fairy - but that is typical - either that or Terrence the only boy fairy). They spent a good couple of hours in this world, while I happily seated myself in an Adirondack chair (my new favorite spot) and observed. Kris did a little bit of both - alternating between being Terrance, distributing pixie dust and relaxing along side me.
You know, I think we are really going to like it here. We've even already made some friends - 2 bunnies, 2 Blue Jays and a chipmunk.
