Last day, last day last day. Last day of school for Riley and last day in the house for Riley - talk about a double whammy!! But she was excited. She made the most unbelievable scrapbook at school documenting her JK year at Holy Rosary. I will compliment the teacher on helping out with these they were FANTASTIC - but I'll talk more about that later. And of course, she brought home all of her end of the year artwork!!
Emily spent her last day with me around the house. She did some painting, ate KD from a paper plate (the last few things in our cupboards) and hung out with our neighbours - who we'll miss very much. Our girls are only a few months apart and are too adorable together.
We celebrated our last day by going out for dinner with the Jamiesons, which was really great and the kids had a blast - they all just love each other sooo much and are definitely going to miss being around the corner from one another. We'll still see each other lots though (Julie has already driven out here twice in as many days!!! - love her).
After dinner we went back to the house to get on jammies and say good-bye before driving back with grandma to spend a few days with all the grandparents.
They were so so so adorable leaving the house chanting "bye house, bye house, bye house" some of our neighbours were out on their front porch waving good-bye, some of them hearing the girls chanting from inside, came out to wave their good-bye's too which was sooo great :)
It was a very touching moment.
That night, I emotionally checked out too I think. The next few days it was just work, work, work. Packing, packing, packing, moving, moving, moving, unpacking, unpacking, unpacking.....
The truck was seriously completely full, with no room to spare. This is what it looked like when they opened the back doors when we arrived at the new house. That is some strategic packing - but good for them, cause we did it all in one trip :)
