A Taste of Pixie Hallow!!

Well, though the birthday party was cancelled and Riley is still feeling a little blah, we still managed to have a little bit of a Pixie Hallow weekend. Grandma Heather and Papa Dave came down on Saturday and brought Riley her present, which included the new Peter Pan DVD, our first stop to Neverland. Then Sunday her friend Hunter stopped by to give her a present, so we gave them a tiny taste of what they missed out on in terms of party plans.
May I tell you a bit about the proposed party. To start the party we were going to make our magic wands and pirate swords (for the boys), then we were going to have a game of "musical cushions" to the music from the Nutcracker (Riley's favorite). Then we were going to get all suited up for our "Fairy Treasure Hunt". I had put together butterfly fairy wings and flower crowns for all them to wear (eye patches and bandannas for the boys who had escaped from Neverland's Cove to join the party).


Each of our little fairies would have their own little Tinker Bag to gather their treats.

Fairies from 5 different Talents had visited our house and had hidden treasures around the house. I made a map of the location of each of the treasure boxes which they could follow for the hunt. The tinker talent fairy 'Tinker Bell' left a box of Disney Fairy PEZ dispensers, the animal talent 'Fawn' left a box filled with toy snakes and frogs. The water talent fairy 'Silvermist', left a box of bubble jars, and the Garden Talent fairy 'Rosetta' left a box of hand painted rocks. Finally the light talent fairy 'Iridessa' left a bag filled with special Pixie Hallow individual jewel boxes filled with jewel necklaces.


After the hunt, they were going to sit down to a meal under a fairy canopy at a small low table in the family room. The food would consist of chicken wands, fiddle head bread sticks, and salad in nests and a little fairy berry treat. And for the grand finale toadstool cupcakes. We'll obviously that didn't happen. But when Hunter came today with a gift, I wanted to give her a treat bag, but their treat bags were the treasure hunt bags and the treats were the goodies found on the treasure hunt. Since I had everything bought and made I didn't really want it to go totally to waste, so Riley and Hunter (conveniently named) set off on a little mini hunt, and got to have a taste of what the party may have brought them. It was really cute.




Landyn may be popping by tomorrow, he has a gift for Riley too. So we might just do it over again. This time, Riley wants to help with the treasure hiding.
