So we gathered everyone up including both Grandmas (ours and theirs)to catch the Ferry to Toronto Island. They loved going on the boat to the island, that alone would have been the making of a great day along with being amongst the towering buildings and the CN tower - they don't remember ever being there before (and I'm actually not even sure if they have).
When we got to the island and the rides came into view, it was an exciting journey from ride to ride to ride before stopping for lunch.
Today was also a special day because Riley got to have her first ride on a Pony. Clara had done this before, and looked pretty comfy for the ride too (even though the not so proficient, definitely not so friendly guide was leading the way).
It started to drizzle slightly over lunch, but we were in a partially covered area so we fared well. The girls just enjoyed each other over some down time and had a little fun dancing and taking turns with the camera. Clara is such a sweet girl. Here are just some adorable pictures that were taken that day.
We decided that after the train ride after lunch that we would call it a day, before the kids reached their breaking point. Good thing that we did because as we were approaching the Ferry, down came the rain. We stayed indoors on the ferry this time and the girls were oohing and aahing over baby Chloe - so adorable. Jane so kindly welcomed them into her personal space, as Chloe was in the Baby Bjorn, and they really just couldn't get enough of her, until Chloe had had enough of them - haha!
It was a complete torential down pour as we exited the parking garage, with a bit of a light show as well, but thankfully Andras led us to the Expressway and we were on our way. It didn't matter that it took us over 4 hours to get home, when it only took 2 hours to get there, because the girls were happy in the car and they had such a fun day.
It was great to have a real play date Jane and not just a virtual one, and hope we can do this again next time you are in Canada :)
We had such a great day and were so pleased to meet your girls at last! Definitely will mark it on the calendar for next summer!
