Okay, I thought that I was a pretty good mom by doing a daily "project" with Riley and taking time out for music, whether it be on the piano, with her percussion instruments or singing and dancing. But when she returned home from school on Thursday, this is what she had accomplished in one day, and that was in between Music class, Drama Class, Free Play, Outdoor play, Lunch, Snacks and a nap. They certainly get things done at preschool. If you are wondering about the magnifying glass that Riley has stuffed in her face, it has become her little sidekick. She loves to do Look and Find books, I Spy books, all that sort of thing, and she must have her magnifying glass to do so (since there is a picture of one on the front cover of the books). Not that she holds it at a height over the book that actually produces any amount of magnification, she just likes sliding it over the page until she finds what she is looking for.
Okay, as for Emily, she gets so excited lately and smiles soooo big and sooo hard, that it looks like it almost hurts. The last 2 weeks at church everyone has to tell us, how adorable and sweet and well behaved and happy our children are. Emily seriously spends the entire hour (well, while Riley is at Sunday School) looking around the church saying "hi, hi, hi" to everyone with the worlds most enormous smile.
Here she is playing peek-a-boo with me from the corner of the couch. You will also notice her little friend 'bear', whom she is growing quite inseparable from. Her stinky little sleep friend has fast become irreplaceable, despite our efforts, and can only be thrown into the washing machine discretely between naps.
