Family Fun Weekend

It seemed that last weekend was the first weekend that we have had no plans in a really long time. So we took advantage and had a Family Fun weekend. Saturday we suited up and went for family swim at the Y. The pool there is the best because they keep it really warm (like 95)and it is only 2 1/2 ft. deep so Emily can run around all over the place and she loves it. She only fell under once, and didn't really seem to mind much. Riley on the other hand, just puts on her goggles and swims under, over, all around. It was fun. Speaking of swimming, Riley advanced to "Diver" status in her preschool swimming lessons. Yesterday they swam from the shallow end out to the deep end and they also learned how to "dive" off the side of the pool. She was very excited about that and can't wait to show her Grandmas in Florida.
Sunday we had a yummy hot breakfast that Kris fabbed up. Then we were off to the Market for a skate and some hot chocolate. This was Emily's first time on her new bob skates and she had so much fun. Especially when Daddy was holding on to her skating around super fast - "more, more, more" were her words. It was also a first for Riley - skating on her own. Kris stayed close behind her to ease the falls (in which she only had one). They were definitely baby steps, but she did it and we were very proud.
We warmed up inside the market with some hot chocolate and chocolate dipped gingerbread. Mmmmm. That afternoon Kris put together a pot of home-made turkey soup. It was such a great weekend. Now we are busy again every weekend until spring!!
