Apple Land Station - times 2.

The last 2 Sunday's in a row, we have taken the kids to Apple Land Station. A great little farm just outside London where you can pick apples and much, much more. The first trip out was with Grandma Mary. A last minute decision to wake Emily from her nap at 3:00 to make it to the farm before it closed at five. This farm is so much fun. They have a great train that Engineer Ernie (Riley is the one who remembered his name, not me)runs to take you out to the orchard. They had several different types of apples, but we like to pick Royal Gala, because the trees are small and accessible, and the apples are sweet and crisp. Yum! yum! They have a small animal farm their as well with horses, chicks and small cows. And the great play area called Sand Mountain. Which is exactly what it sounds like - a huge mountain of sand, with concrete tunnels running through it and loads of trucks, sand toys and slides to play on too. We ran into Chris and Antonella there as well, and Riley had lots of fun playing with Sophia. We were also treated to some apple pie from grandma after we came home to our crock pot chicken dinner.

Our second trip was with Julie, Landyn and Ryenne, and Amber, Ethan and Olivia. Daddy was able to come with us too!! We were practically the first to arrive at the start of the day this time. So the kids had Sand Mountain practically to themselves. This time we took up a full cart on Engineer Ernie's train, and we added a small adventure in the pumpkin patch this time. It was a funfilled day had by all. And Ryenne was so cute eating her very first apple!!!

Anyway, loads of fun - check out the website. The.Best.Apple.Pie. We brought home another one this day for our dinner with the Finnigans.
