Happy Canada Day

After a last minute pool party cancellation (due to 18 degree weather and rain), we instead had a family day at home. We made pancakes (have to have maple syrup on Canada Day), baked a cake, played board games, Kris and Riley practiced their "So You Think You Can Dance" routine, Riley road her bike and Kerri and Darren came over for a bbq and the traditional Canada Day Cake. Good times.

Had to include this note attached to an e-card that Cousin Bill sent to Kris' parents from Florida. It was at the bottom of a very nice Canadian Flag flying with our national anthum in the background. Terrible.

"Hope you have a great Celebration!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're going to have a mock funeral for our country on the 4th of July. We're going to eat some Collard Greens and fried chicken with Watermelon, sing a few verses of "We Shall Overcome" and then bury our way of life as we have known it."

  1. I got a tear when I saw the lovely Canada Day cake that I wish had been at the non-party! Maybe next year!
